In 1988, Mr.Xuguang Liu and Mr. Xiaoming Su designed and developed the GM8801, the first Chinese weighing controller with independent intellectual property rights, in Shenzhen. Based on this product, Shenzhen General Measure was founded in 1993. In the following year, over 1000 units of GM8803, the sister model of GM8801, were sold in the Chinese market. This broke the record and GM8803 became the first weighing controller that is exceeded sales of 1,000 units in one year. Since 2006, General Measure's weight controllers has occupied more than 25% of the market in China and dominated in the higher-end market.
GM was the first company in the field to respond to the trends of globalization in the Chinese Market, In 2003, the creation of Canada General Measure opened a window to the North American market as well as allowed us to accumulate the necessary experience with overseas markets to fully enter the world market. After the experience of marketing and adapting out products to meet the needs of the North American Market, we are now confident that our products and other resources are mature to enter the world market on a full scale. We have created marketing plans for other areas of the world. Just recently, the European Division of General Measure was created and applications for OIML, NTEP, CE, FCC Certificates for many models of our product are well underway.
Ever since General Measure was first established, our objective has been becoming a developer and manufacturer of weighing controllers on a global scale. A Common Chinese Say goes that: "Success does not come to you on its own; you have to work for it!" The General Measure extension of that is "One cannot achieve success without cooperation". Our success in the past was largely owned to our spirit of cooperation, and we truly value our business partners and customers as our greatest assets. Now with the globalizing trend of the Market, GM is facing great opportunities. We are looking forward to carrying on our legacy and work closely with our overseas partners.
