PROPELEV - Brand Story
In 1950, skateboarding was born and sidewalk surfing land surfing became popular in the United States on the coast of Hawaii and California. With the development of the industry, skateboards also changed from toys to sports equipment, and more adventurous people with individuality and desire for freedom skated their skateboards to feel the outdoors, but skateboarding was more of an underground sport, and skaters could only skate in their own backyards, self-built ramps, street-side stairs and other specific urban building structures, and the terrain greatly limited the development of this outdoor sport.
In 2012, a group of adventurous friends came together to find an off-road electric scooter that was not constrained by the terrain, so that they could better experience the fun of shuttling through nature. Inspired by the concept of RC models, various snowboards and skis, the first generation prototype was completed in 2013, an off-road electric scooter with independent suspension shock absorption, a rambunctious beast that can take you to conquer all terrains and let you feel better outdoor freedom.
The prototype received national invention patents and seven original design patents. four generations of prototype production were completed from 2014 to 2019, upgrading the structure and size, adding more comprehensive features, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing stability and various functions of the remote control.
It has been a grueling journey with repeated sketch design revisions, 20,000 road tests and dozens of finished product overturns.
By 2020, we were one step closer to our ultimate goal: to build the world's best electric off-road skateboard. While gathering feedback from riders, we found industry consultants and designers to work with, and in 2021 we finally decided to change the brand name to Propel EV (forever pushing the boundaries of electric vehicles).
Electric skateboarding is no longer just a hobby, but a serious art of outdoor sports, and Propel EV is looking for that forgotten art that was lost 70 years ago, so that more people can enjoy the fun of the outdoors.
