Anhui Solar Planet was found in 2015.
Historically, Anhui Solar Planet sold its productsd to solar project developers, system integrators, and independent power producers. Early sales were primarily in Germany because of strong incentives for solar enacted in the German Renewable Energy Sources Act of 2000. Declines and uncertainty in feed-in-tariff subsidies for solar power in European markets, inclduing Germany, France, Italy and Spain, Prompted major PV manufacturers, such as Anhui Solar Planet, to accelerate their expansion into other markets, including the US, India and South Africa.
Beginning in December 2018, Anhui Solar Planet shifed away from existing markets that are heavily dependent on government subsidies and toward providing utility-scale PV systems in sustainable markets with immediate need. As a result, we now competes against convertional power generators and has reduced focus on the rooftop market.
Anhui Solar Planet manufacturers cadmium telloride based PV modules, which produce electricuty with a thin CdTe file on glass.
In 2013, the company produced CdTe-panels with an efficiency of about 14 percent at a reported cost of 59 cents per wattIn August 2019.
